Structural Yoga™ Therapy
Structural Yoga™ adapts yoga to the individual and is based on the teachings of my teacher, Mukunda Tom Stiles, author of the books Structural Yoga™ Therapy, Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy and Sutras of Patanjali, a beautiful and poetic translation of the Yoga Sutras. Using the Joint Freeing Series as the template to learning, we will explore kinesiology - the science of the analysis of motion, within our bodies. Learn what is weak and tight in your body to determine your imbalances. Then develop a therapeutic action plan to support balanced health.

Breathe! Cultivating Life Force (Prana) and Health Through a Breath Practice
Pranayama, the formal practice of controlling the breath, lies at the heart of yoga. The ancient yogis taught that prana (life force energy) can be cultivated and channelled through a number of different breathing exercises. In this workshop, learn ways to use breath to calm your mind, understand situations in your life, balance your mood and emotions, reduce physical pain, increase the health of your body's systems and increase energy and quality of life.

Yoga for Healthy Neck and Shoulders
Neck and shoulder pain, strain and limitation are the most common disorders after back pain. Almost all adults experience stiffness and limitation in the movement of their neck and shoulders at some point. Neck pain can easily be chronic, is often slow to diminish, and can return with the smallest of exertions. A regular Yoga practice is a perfect antidote for those who experience neck and shoulder pain. In this workshop, we will explore gentle movement, breathing and relaxation techniques to unravel tension surrounding the neck and shoulders.

Yoga techniques are effective in alleviating pain and maintaining a healthy back. In this workshop, you will learn about common back issues, assess your posture, practice therapeutic asanas, and learn relaxation and breathing exercises that support back health and develop new tools for optimal back health.

Yin and Restorative Yoga - An Introspective Practice
This workshop begins with a gentle, vinyasa flow to warm, open and prepare the body for a quiet practice of Yin Yoga. Yin Yoga encourages the body to open as poses are held passively for several minutes. Yin Yoga targets connective tissue and activates the movement of Chi, or prana, in the body. Each pose is a mini-meditation, a time to explore the body and the mind with deep awareness. The workshop will culminate as we rest our bodies in a restorative posture and experience a soothing guided meditation by Beth. A special workshop for people on the go needing relaxation, introspection  and restoration.

The physical heart, is a mighty vessel that is our life pump. How well we care for our physical heart determines the quality and health of our emotional and spiritual hearts. Our emotional heart, needs understanding and daily care. Our spiritual heart is at the heart of our health at the physical and emotional level. The ancients believed that deep within us lies a beautiful flame the size of a small round pebble. This flame glows faithfully within us at all times and is at the center of our emotional, mental and physical well-being. Learn a guided meditation that will bring health and harmony to all three of your hearts.

Creating a Home Practice
Perhaps you take one or two classes a week and love the benefits, but know that a more regular home practice is necessary to truly transform your body and your life. A home yoga practice is valuable not only because it can bring you the cumulative benefit of a daily practice, but by taking control of your own practice, you'll gain a deeper understanding of yoga poses and their specific effect on your body, mind, heart and spirit. Through home practice, self-transformation can be realized. Learn an overview of the types of asanas and their benefits, the art of sequencing for home practice, customize a sequence during the workshop to meet your multi-dimensional needs and creatively explore the makings of a sacred practice space using a visualization and art activity! Handouts of home practice sequences will be provided to suppport you during the initial stages of home practice development.

Yoga Philosophy - Living the Yamas and Niyamas
Do you want to know more about how to apply Yoga to your daily life? The practice of postures is only a starting point. The feeling that we get as a result of our Yoga asana practice opens the possibility of concrete, positive change in every aspect of our lives. The ancient masters knew this and they developed clear, practical tools for applying Yoga in the places where it mattered most: daily life and daily relationships. This workshop explores the concepts of Yama (Social Attitudes) and Niyama (Personal Disciplines), ten beautiful living principles to learn and live by. The Yamas and Niyamas can be used for contemplation, self-inquiry and self and universal transformation. Discussion followed by contemplative asana will support your understanding of the Yamas and Niyamas.

Learn Ayurveda Basics
In Ayurveda, health is defined as the dynamic state of balance between mind, body and environment. It is possible for each of us to achieve and maintain a vibrant and joyful state of health by understanding and embracing our mind-body type and then creating a healthy lifestyle that sustains and nurtures our unique nature. In Ayurveda, our mind-body state is translated to the 3 Doshas - Vata, Pitta and Kapha. The Doshas express particular patterns of energy - unique blends of physical, emotional and mental characteristics. Learn your Dosha mind-body type, and from that knowing, develop healthy new lifestyle, dietary and yoga practices.
